The Battle of Waterloo took place on June 18, 1815, near Waterloo in Belgium, which was then part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Napoleonic era begins with Napoleon Bonaparte’s coup d’état on November 9, 1799, destroying the Directory and establishing the French Consulate, and ends with his loss at the Battle of Waterloo.
